Whistler is in the midst of another storm system with snow over the past couple days and more in the forecast. The past few days have been really fun on the mountain with some fresh snow and fast crud underneath. Although there is a rain crust layer up most of the alpine the top bit of the upper runs is skiing really well. Today in the wind loaded pockets there was actually some really good turns to be had.
I skied Peak chair almost all day today, and it was a blast. Some of the hit laps were really fun and soft, and the snow was consistent enough to get into the bigger lines in the alpine. I saw a single track off of Air Jordan, as well as few other gnarly lines that went down today. The snow was not deep by any means but had enough forgiveness to get sendy.
Looking into the next few days we are only supposed to get more snow and eventually clear up a little bit. Be careful in the backcountry, as always, as the avalanche danger is fairly high throughout all of BC. Have fun out there this weekend and enjoy the new snow.
