Summer began at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, BC, yesterday as the resort opened its bike park for the season. But it wasn’t quite the opening day they’d had in mind…

Due to snow accumulation in the alpine, the gondola was closed to mountain biking, although it was still accessible from the Catamount Chair.

While it looks like more than just a dusting, by 12:35 pm, temperatures had warmed enough to melt the snow and allow the resort to open the gondola to bikers.

Still, pretty cool for late June!
