Skiresort.info, the world’s largest test portal for ski resorts, has given awards in 2023 for the best ski resorts world-wide. The award by Skiresort.info is highly regarded by ski and snowboard fans as well as by the ski resorts themselves and is awarded based on a metric of criteria to evaluate the best ski resort in the world. Evaluations are only done after an on-site visit by Skiresort.info.

The Skiresort.info Test Winner for 2023 is KitzSki Kitzbühel/Kirchberg in Austria, which has won the award every years since 2013. In the 2023 test, Kitzbühel/​Kirchberg – KitzSki achieved the highest evaluation of all ski resorts worldwide with 4.9 from 5 possible stars.

The total result for a test report is derived from the average value of the following 18 test criteria:

Kitzbühel/Kirchberg is located 4 hours west of Vienna, Austria. The resort is known as Austria’s fanciest resort and boasts 57 state-of-the-art gondolas and lifts servicing 145 miles of downhill runs, 119 miles of which are marked and groomed: 47 blue (66 miles), 32 red (41 miles), and 17 black (12 miles). Internationally the resort is renowned for being the home of the famous Hahnenkamm race on the legendary ‘Streif’ course, a FIS World Cup race that attrracts the world’s best skiers each year.

Kitzbühel has been part of the Ikon Pass since 2021. Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass holders get seven or five day access respectively to the Kitzbühel ski area.

During the 2023 test, 28 other resorts achieved a score of at least 4.5 out of 5 possible stars, classifying them as a first-class 5 star score on Skiresort.info’s website. These 28 resorts are:
