We can hear avalanche bombs from our house in Tahoe City.  Not a bad sign.  It’s also very windy in Tahoe City this morning.  NOAA is reporting 38mph winds at the top of Squaw with gusts to 55mph and a temperature of 22ºF as of 8am.

We’re hoping it’s not enough wind to shut down Squaw’s upper lifts, but it just might be…
The forecast for Tahoe today:
Snow showers, mainly before 11am. High near 41. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. – NOAA
Then NOAA is calling for record highs getting as high as 61ºF on Thursday and 64ºF on Friday…
