Soldier Mountain in Idaho is offering free mountain biking for the rest of the summer, and the resort will operate the chairlifts this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2-3, as well as Sept. 17 and Sept. 23-24. The lifts will spin from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and the kitchen and bar will open on those dates, too.
Riders must purchase their $0 free tickets on its website to officially sign the liability waiver. The resort will publish full details on its website and social media channels.
Soldier Mountain offers nine miles of forested and subalpine singletrack, with world-class beginner and intermediate trails and two challenging expert trails.
The resort is hosting the National Interscholastic Cycling Association’s Idaho Chapter youth mountain bike races on Sept. 16 for the second consecutive year. Last year’s event drew 650 youth riders from Idaho and neighboring states and about 1,300 spectators. Spectators can ride the chairlift uphill during the NICA race and walk down the mountain.
Soldier Mountain encourages visitors to dry camp in its parking lot at no cost and enjoy the weekend there. The resort’s outdoor bathrooms will be open 24/7 to accommodate campers.
