Skier Airlifted After Being Injured In The Tahoe Backcountry

According to RGJ, the Washoe County Sheriffโ€™s Department and North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District successfully rescued an injured backcountry skier near Incline Village, NV on Sunday.ย At around 12:30pm, it was reported that there was an injured backcountry skier at about 9,600ft on a peak in the area.

The skier was a male in his early 40’s.ย Rescuers were able to reach the stranded man with a helicopter. After doing so, he was airlifted to Mt. Rose Highway and transported to the hospital. Always use caution while venturing out in the backcountry, especially now with all of the fresh snow.
