Severe Geomagnetic Storm Brings Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) to Below U.S. Canadian Border

A severe G4 Geomagnetic Storm overnight brought Aurora Borealis activity to low latitudes enabling rare Northern Lights views as far south as Madison Wisconsin (43ยฐ N).

The images captured by weather stations and ski areas across the northern latitudes of the Lower 48 are out-of-this-world spectacular.
