Scottish ski area Lecht had been struggling for several years after being forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by poor snow conditions and poor visitation numbers in the 23/24 winter season. Earlier this year, the ski area launched two crowdfunding campaigns to raise ยฃ35,000 ($45,400) to stay operational for the 24/25 season. The campaigns raised enough and Pieter du Pon, Managing Director at the Lecht Ski Centre, announced on July 14 that the fundraising goal was achieved, stating in a press release that he was delighted with the โhigh community spirit and support shown.โ
โWe value your loyalty and will continue to work hard to earn it every day.
With the funding appeal being successful it is therefore now closed.
Once again thank you very much for your support and being part of the Lecht Community. We look forward to seeing you all at the Lecht again very soon.โ
