The countdown is officially on: RED Mountain Resort in Rossland, British Columbia, is gearing up to open its brand-new lift-accessed bike park on June 21, 2025. To celebrate the milestone, the resort has launched Episode Two of a stunning two-part video mini-series along with its new RED Mountain Bike Park website—complete with a trail map, pricing, FAQ, and everything riders need to plan their trip.
Episode One, “Standing on the Shoulders of Legends,” is far more than a promotional teaser. It’s a beautifully filmed and soul-stirring tribute to the pioneers and trail-building passion that helped shape mountain biking in the Kootenay Mountains. With the theme “It’s hard to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been,” the video highlights the deep roots of the town of Rossland’s biking culture—celebrating the legacy of local athletes, rugged trails, and a community that helped put the region on the global mountain biking map.
The second and final chapter of the series, “Standing on the Shoulders of Innovation,” explores the question, “Which came first – the legendary rider or the legendary trail?” and offers an inside look at the creativity, dedication, and technical expertise driving the park’s development at RED Mountain. The films pay homage to the trailblazers and community spirit that have defined Rossland’s biking culture, while spotlighting the collaboration with Gravity Logic.
Whistler-based Gravity Logic is one of the world’s top names in bike park development. The result? A world-class riding experience designed for everyone, from first-time downhillers to seasoned pros. Whether looking for flowy green trails or technical black descents, the RED Bike Park promises progression and fun for every rider.
The park’s first phase will include access via the Silverlode Chair, lifting riders 624 vertical feet to the top. Riders can choose from 12 trails: one green, five blues, and six blacks. Base area amenities include a bike shop, rentals, dining, and accommodations, making it a full-service summer destination. It is designed to be a place where beginners ride confidently and veterans can still be humbled. It will also be a destination that celebrates progression, offering every rider the chance to grow, push their limits, and have fun, no matter their skill level.
“This multi-million-dollar project is more than a bike park,” Andrew Lunt, RED’s General Manager, said. “The RED Bike Park is poised to be the cornerstone for the community of Rossland, the promotion of local tourism, outdoor recreation in the Kootenays, and to elevate Rossland as the premier destination four-season basecamp for many outdoor experiences.”
Rossland is conveniently located just 2.5 hours north of Spokane, Washington. It is an hour-long flight from Vancouver to Trail Regional Airport, making it easily accessible for adventurers looking to kick off summer on two wheels.
