It wasn’t the first snow we’ve seen in Tahoe this year, but it was the most skiable. The crew consisted of myself, Jamie Burge, Mark Kendrick, and Mark’s puggle Milo . We headed to Sugar Bowl the morning of October 29th after hearing that they had picked up 21-29”, while most other places around Tahoe had gotten a lot less than that.

After a relatively short skin up Mt. Disney, we carefully chose our line down based on which place looked the least likely to demolish our skis. The upper third of the run allowed for several great turns, but after that it got a tad “schwacky”, leading to some ski-to-rock contact. All in all, it was a fun day playing in the snow, and it was enough to get our stoke up for winter!

Be safe out there. There are lots of barely submerged rocks, roots, and debris.
