Powder Mountain, Utah, opened for the season on Thursday, December 7, 2023. The snow has been falling for a few days now in Eden, Utah, and the resort opened with a first night of night skiing on Thursday, operating the Sundown Lift from 4-9 p.m. The resort started spinning its Timberline Lift today, thanks to the recent snowfalls.
The team at Powder Mountain was thrilled to open after a storm that brought more than a foot of snow to kick off the season. So far this season the resort has seen 42 inches of snow in total, of which more than half fell just this week. Heavy snowfall is forecast for Monday and Tuesday next week as well, so why not make the most of the excellent early-season conditions in Utah, and come on down.
Powder Mountain is located in the Wasatch Mountains of northern Utah, 55 miles from Salt Lake City airport. The resort boasts 8,464 acres of skiable area, making it the largest ski area in North America in acreage and earning it the coveted top spot in SkiMagazine’s top Resorts in the West according to SkiMagazine readers, fans and followers.
