Michigan ski hill, Norway Mountain, announced they plan to re-open and start spinning the lifts for guests during the 2024-2025 ski season. A recent post on Norway Mountain’s Facebook and TikTok shared the news, with many commenters voicing their excitement.
The “upside down” ski area, located in the Upper Peninsula of the mitten state on the border of Wisconsin, closed at the end of the 2016-2017 season. Before that, the facilities sat vacant and non-operating from 2012 to 2014 after 20 successful years of operations.

160 acres of skiable terrain, 500 feet of vertical, and 100 inches of annual snowfall make for a fun winter playground for Yoopers and folks around northern Wisconsin. The lifts include two doubles, one triple, and three handle tows that service 17 trails and a terrain park.
In the last decade, ownership changes and financial restructuring, amongst other issues, resulted in years of non-operating status. However, skiers and snowboarders can once again look forward to making some turns at the revamped ski area in a little over a year.
