Southwest Airlines is offering more flights into the Steamboat Springs area than ever before. New this year, starting December 19th and running through April 5th seasonally, ski tourists from all over the nation will be able to visit Steamboat Springs and their legendary ski slopes, now with less hassle. Services will fly into Hayden-Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN), about 30 minutes drive from Ski Town U.S.A.
Southwest will be offering daily, non-stop service from Denver International Airport, three times a day. Furthermore, non-stop flights from Dallas, TX will arrive once a day on both Saturdays and Sundays. All ski season long. Thus making it easier for people from all over to get to Steamboat with more direct flights. These new fares may even help alleviate some Denver/I-70 ski traffic. Why drive when you can fly? Any day of the week. The non-stop service from Dallas will eliminate a layover at DIA, buying travelers from abroad more time on the slopes.
A statement from Rob Perlman, president and COO of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation read; “Having Southwest pick Steamboat as their first winter seasonal, mountain airport is a game-changer. Southwest Airlines’ popularity, connectivity, and low-cost fares equal more access for skiers and snowboarders to the Champagne Powder snow of Steamboat.” The airline has a couple of different game plans to adjust to whatever curveballs may come from the uncertainty around the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.
