September is an anxious, intense month…  It’s the first full month of Fall.  First snows of the year happen, the first ski resorts of the year open (Arapahoe Basin CO, Loveland Pass CO), and the stoke for the winter runs very high.

October is the month that gets us fired up for ski and snowboard season.  Powder Magazine is out, ski movies are touring, first snows of the year are falling, ski resorts are opening up, and coming winter holds every possibility.

NOAA’s PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK FOR OCTOBER:

• NOAA’s September outlook is forecasting above average precipitation southern Alaska, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma.
• Below average precipitation if forecast in the Pacific Northwest, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia.

NOAA’s TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK FOR SEPTEMBER:

• NOAA’s September outlook is forecasting above average temperatures in the entire USA except Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
• Below average temperatures are forecast nowhere.
