July was “very wet” across much of the Southwest as the North American Monsoon continued for a good part of the month, according to the NOAA.

The organization reported that it was also a very hot month across the Pacific Northwest and portions of the Great Basin.

Meanwhile, August and September are expected to produce an especially active hurricane season.
