NOAA: 4-12″ of Snow for Tahoe This Weekend

NOAA is forecasting 6-12″ of snow in Tahoe this weekend.  They’re saying 4-8″ above 5,500-feet and up to 12″ of snow on the highest peaks in Tahoe.

NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Lake Tahoe Basin.

This very well could be a fun weekend in Lake Tahoe, CA.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM FRIDAY TO 4 PM PST
SATURDAY...

* TIMING: SNOW SHOWERS WILL BEGIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND INTENSIFY
  FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 3 TO 7 INCHES AT LAKE LEVEL WITH 6 TO 12
  INCHES ABOVE 7000 FEET. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE IN
  HEAVIER SHOWERS.

* SNOW LEVELS: BELOW LAKE LEVEL.

* IMPACTS: SNOW WILL CREATE SLICK AND ICY ROADS WITH THE WORST
  CONDITIONS LIKELY FRIDAY EVENING INTO SATURDAY MORNING. THIS
  INCLUDES INTERSTATE 80 AND HIGHWAY 50.

  • was there through the weekends at northstar. We are nowhere close to 2010 and late but damn it felt great to get some turns in ❄️

  • In a winter such as this to see a forecast with such a wide margin of precip total possibilities 4″ or poss 300% more, nice chuckle 4 the day.

    Wonder after alls done how much will squally marketing b claimimg? Most epic d.o.c. to be sure
