Neck Deep in Japan in Super Slow-Motion | Sweetgrass Productions, Jan. 2012

Miles Clark

If you haven’t gotten the memo yet, here it is:  It’s snows like you can’t possibly understand in January in Japan.  It snows, and then it snows, and then it snows some more.  If the sun comes out 5 days in January, that’s a sunny January.  In Japan, it’s about the snow.

No storms needed.  A cold wind comes off of Siberia, picks up moisture off the sea of Japan, then dumps it as snow on the mountains of Japan.  It’s like clockwork.  And like clockwork, film companies will come to Japan every January to document the deepness.

If you still don’t understand, this video will bring you into the light.  The snow in Japan is undeniable.  I plan to be in Japan every January for the rest of my life.  And I’m not kidding.
