Mount Washington Alpine Resort in British Columbia is set to open for a bonus weekend, offering skiers and snowboarders a rare chance to hit the slopes in mid-June. The resortโ€™s grooming and park crew, fresh off a final test run, have prepared a compact but lively Rail Park for visitors on June 14 and 15.

The Rail Park, located just steps from the Eagle Chair unload area, will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. It features two rail linesโ€”one for beginners and one for expertsโ€”each with two features. While the setup is modest, organizers say the fun will be anything but, with the remaining snow holding up just long enough for this special Fatherโ€™s Day weekend event.

Access to the Rail Park is free for all 2024-25 and 2025-26 Winter Season Pass holders. Day tickets are available for $19. All guests must check in at the Ticket Windows or Outdoor Elements to receive a wristband before heading to the Eagle Chair. The Alpine Responsibility Code and Terrain Park etiquette are in effect, and helmets are strongly recommended.

In addition to the Rail Park, Mount Washington will offer a suite of summer activities. The Eagleโ€™s Flight ZipTour will run from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with prebooking encouraged. Sightseers can ride the Eagle Chair from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while the Eagle View Bistro and BBQ Patio will serve food and drinks throughout the day. The Outdoor Elements retail shop will also be open for visitors.

Mount Washingtonย Alpine Resortย received 261 inches of snow last season. It opened on November 30 and closed on April 20. Summer starts daily on June 27.

Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, soak in the mountain views, and cheer on fellow riders. Downloading via the Eagle Chair is mandatory for all activities, as hiking trails remain closed due to lingering snowmelt.

This bonus weekend marks the first โ€œSneak Peekโ€ of Mount Washingtonโ€™s summer offerings. Resort staff are eager to welcome families and mountain enthusiasts, inviting everyone to celebrate Fatherโ€™s Day with snow, sun, and scenic ocean views.
