A 41 – year -old man drowned in South Lake Tahoe this 4th of July. According to Battalion Chief Jim Drennan of the South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, firefighters were called around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July Fourth and responded to reports of a man and wife who’s double kayak had capsized. The lake wind had come up that afternoon and produced waves. The man was not wearing a life jacket and drowned. Firefighters performed CPR and the man was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe where he was pronounced dead.
