Lots of people here seem confused about how to interpret the chart above… So, here’s a quick annotation to convince you that indeed, the level seems to have been the same in September.
Normally the lake would hit its high after the snow melt, late summer. This storm should be frozen and stored as snow until spring but instead is coming in warm and dumping rain/rain runnoff directly jnto the Lake.
the natural rim of the lake is pretty low. the dam can hold about 6 feet of water above the rim. Midsummer in a good year it probably 3-4 feet above the rim.

We visited Lake Tahoe last Fall (2015) and the lake level was down…WAY DOWN! So we are ecstatic at this news!
26,669 acre feet is a fairly modest amount considering the capacity of Lake Tahoe is 122,160,280 acre-feet. –mike

The last time it was at natural rim looks like it was mid September if you look at the USGS water level data
