Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest mountain resort in Eastern North America and a POWDR company, announces closing day for the 2023/24 winter season will be June 1, the 196th operating day of the season. This is the third year in a row that Killington’s season has lasted into June on Superstar, the same trail that will host the Stifel Killington Cup over Thanksgiving Weekend 2024.
“Our grooming team has done some late season calculations and assures us there is enough snow remaining that with a little farming, they’ll be able to piece together one final day of skiing and riding,” says Mike Solimano, president and general manager of Killington Resort. “We are thrilled to offer this as a cap to the longest season in the East!”
The Mountain Operations team plans to connect the Superstar trail below the headwall for nearly 1000’ of vertical. Some walking, including on and off the chairlift, will be required. The skiing and riding are recommended for experts only.
The Superstar Express Quad will only spin from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets will be $25 (all ages), with the proceeds benefiting the Killington Mountain Bike Club. Commemorative T-shirts will be given out while supplies last.
Also on Saturday will be the first-ever Play Forever Mountain Clean-Up presented by Pepsi, where we’ll be cleaning up parking lots and areas of the mountain on Snowshed and Ramshead. Participants will receive complimentary lunch and custom gloves, as well as be entered to win great raffle prizes from YETI. Registration is open now. The day will be capped off with a free live performance by NordPeak4 in the K-1 base area.
