Kaya Turski was a young aggressive inline skater living in Montreal when she decided to move to Whistler and pursue her new passion, it proved to be a life-changing decision!
Nine X Games medals and two World Championship medals later she’s deciding to leave the sport that she’s dominated for years.

Kaya has endured and recovered from countless injuries over her career. She has been experiencing chronic daily headaches and this has forced her into an undoubtedly hard decision.
“After trying to get a serious handle on my health while maintaining my devotion to the sport, I’ve finally decided that my head is where I absolutely must draw the line…it’s time to give myself the opportunity to heal fully in order to pursue my next dreams and passions.”
With the tragedy of Dave Mirra’s passing, many extreme sports athletes have been forced to take head injuries very seriously. It hit close to home when a legend like Mirra went down, with many doctors attributing it to his many concussions and head injuries.
The ski world is very sad to see Kaya go…but we certainly can’t blame her and wish her the best in any future endeavors!
