Report from March 11th, 2020

Yesterday, Owen Leeper and I strolled up Cody Peak at Jackson Hole, WY and had a look around.

The snow was a bit funky but fun.

The snow came in warm and got wind affected and slabby.

We skied 4 Shadows into Empire Chutre and triggered a small slab on the wall of Empire, then another small, but deep pocket just below Empire Chute.

We then continued walking south and skied some powder.

The day was gorgeous with in and out clouds and sun and very strong winds on the ridgelines.

After skiing we ate great food at Calico and watched the movie Contagion – which felt kinda like watching the news right now….

I leave Jackson Hole for the season today.

I’ve been based in Jackson since February 3rd and it’s been an amazing 5 weeks.

I’m off to Tahoe today for a week before heading up to Alaska for an extended stay.

Thanks to all my Jackson buddies who have simply been great.

The forecast for Jackson is looking very good this weekend.
