Say hello to the Indy License Plate Club, an offbeat, fun initiative that gives you a chance to earn a free Indy+ Pass just by sporting the right vanity plate on your car.
If you’re the kind of skier or rider who loves racking up days at smaller, soulful mountains instead of the mega-resorts, this might be the easiest season pass you’ve ever scored.
What Is the Indy License Plate Club?
It’s simple: buy a custom license plate that promotes the spirit of the Indy Pass—think “SKI INDY,” “INDY PASS,” or another clever twist and keep it active. As long as your vanity plate creatively supports the Indy Pass and skiing in general, you’ll be eligible for a free Indy+ Pass every season your plate stays on the road. It may be prudent to run your proposed vanity plate wording by Indy Pass before committing. To do so, email them at info@indyskipass.com.
This isn’t just a one-time deal. As long as your plate remains active (and meets the criteria), you’ll keep receiving an Indy+ Pass each year. That’s a lot of free skiing and riding for doing something you probably wanted to do anyway.
How to Join
Getting in on this is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Buy a Vanity Plate:
Head to your state’s DMV and grab a custom plate with a skiing-and-Indy-themed message. Get creative but keep it relevant. “INDY SKI,” “POW INDY,” or “RIDE INDY” probably work. “INDY 500” — not so much. - Add an Indy Pass Sticker:
To really bring it home, throw an Indy Pass sticker near your license plate. It’s not required, but it helps sell the vibe. - Submit Your Proof!
Take a clear photo of your new plate setup and either:

Once approved, you’ll be issued your complimentary Indy+ Pass for the current or upcoming season—easy as fresh corduroy.
