You can’t beat the sound of snowguns in the morning. Gunstock Mountain Resort, NH, is the first resort that has started preparing and testing its guns ahead of the temperatures falling when snowmaking can begin for real.

It might still be a few weeks away, but opening days are approaching—we can smell it.

Gunstock Mountain Resort hit the news earlier this summer when the entire senior management team resigned in protest at the potential privatization of the resort. People power eventually won over, the team was reinstated, and the resort reopened.

Last season the resort opened on December 10th.
