Guess Which Famous Ski Couple is Pictured Here

Everyone started somewhere, including the world’s best alpine skiers. Can you guess which famous couple of the World Cup circuit is pictured here?

The International Ski & Snowboard Federation (‘FIS’) shared the images of five famous alpine ski racers on their Instagram, including these two adorable shots. Most of our avid SnowBrains readers will be able to guess, we hope. Yes, it is indeed Aleksander Aamodt Kilde from Norway and America’s Alpine legend Mikaela Shiffrin.

The couple spent the holidays together, which is amazing considering their tight race schedule. The men’s and women’s circuits do not overlap, so the couple is typically geographically separated due to race commitments during the winter. However, Kilde managed to make it to Austria, where Shiffrin won both the Giant Slalom as well as Slalom event, on December 28 & 29, 2023. On the same dates, Kilde had competed at Bormio, Italy, where he came third in the Super-G while recording a DNF in the Downhill race.

The World Cup season continues on January 6 & 7, 2024, in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, for the women and Adelboden, Switzerland, for the tech men, while the speed races that Kilde competes in will resume on January 12 in Wengen, Switzerland.
