Deep tracks and frosty smiles with beard-cicles pretty well sums-up the cold pow-parade that’s gone down at Grand Targhee.

Your favorite ski & snowboard resort on the cool west side of the Teton Mountains reports a total of 77 inches in the recent storm, which collected over 7 awesome days of snow-globe sessions.

Given the solid winter weather, it’ll be little surprise to read that conditions for skiing & snowboarding are all-around excellent at Targhee. Low temps. have ensured snowpack consistency remains dry and delightfully slash-able–and savvy layering a requirement. And as has been the trend, north-facing aspects are extra fat with wind-transported layers. And that same movement has also created a couple new mini-cornices formations (which we love to see and ski with caution).

Ripper corduroy has been on special during this brief clear spell in-between storm fronts, but if you’re craving more of the untracked fresh there still is PLENTY to be found among the famous ghost trees of Targhee or out wide of the resort’s typical lines.  And enjoy the clear skyline while it lasts; forecast models are calling for another bout of Old Man Winter’s finest throughout the middle of this week.

Grand Targhee Resort is all-the-way open (and all-around outstanding) for searching out pow stashes or soul turns down the front. And indication of this week’s forecast suggests the good are only going to get better at Targhee.
