27-year-old Austrian ski jumper Thomas Morgenstern won Olympic team gold in 2006 and individual gold in 2010.  Yesterday, he took a horrific crash in a competition and sustained serious skull and lung injuries.  Fortunately, doctors say that his injuries do not currently appear life threatening.

Thomas is currently conscious and talking.
