A striking glass-walled estate nestled along the Snake River in Wyoming has hit the market for $60 million, making it the most expensive home publicly listed for sale in the U.S. this week, according to Realtor.com.  The contemporary residence belongs to renowned cardiologist Dr. Gerald Dorros, who commissioned the home after his previous property on the site was destroyed by a fire in 2017. Completed in 2023, the house has served as Dorros’ Wyoming base for the past two years.

Dorros, 83, told Bloomberg that the decision to sell was a practical one.

“I’m 83, and I think it’s a smart decision to sell—I don’t want to have to get rid of the property under hectic conditions,” he said.

Situated in Jackson Hole, the home is designed with sweeping curves and expansive glass walls, blending high-end modern architecture with its lush natural surroundings. Nearly every room offers unobstructed views of the forested riverbank and nearby peaks.

According to the listing, the “sweeping sculptural roof and lofty interiors blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors,” offering a space well-suited for both solitude and large-scale entertaining. The structure’s aesthetic has been described as a “living sculpture.” The home’s $60 million price tag places it atop Realtor.com’s latest list of the most expensive properties for sale in the U.S., published Tuesday. Jackson Hole, long a retreat for the wealthy, has seen its high-end real estate market expand in recent years, driven by limited inventory, strong demand, and scenic isolation.

Dorros, who built a distinguished medical career focused on cardiovascular health and clinical innovation, said he plans to shift his primary residence to Scottsdale, Arizona. His Jackson Hole property is listed by local luxury agents. It is expected to draw interest from international buyers and ultra-high-net-worth individuals seeking privacy, eccentric design, and proximity to nature in the Tetons.
