The Fox Air DH took place Wednesday on Whistler’s most well known trail: A-Line. With a stacked field of well rested World Cup racers, the event proved to be fast and one to watch.
With some changes to A-Line this year no records were broken, but blistering times in the four minute tens range were still impressive. The crowd came out to line the trail as racers made their way down.
Defending his title, Stevie Smith, fresh off a win at the World Cup, came down the hill to get top spot with a time of 4:12.08. In second was Mick Hannah with a time of 4:13.85, only a second and a half off the leaders pace. Nick Beer took third with his time of 4:15.21 putting two Cycles Devinci riders on the podium.
On the ladies side, Jill Kintner finally took Emmiline Ragot off the top of the podeum putting Ragot in second while Floraine Pugin placed third.
The top Juniors all came with a “CAD” behind their names as Alexander Geddes took first, Lee Jackson Second, and Jack Iles third.
