For the first time every, every inch of all 50 US states is forecast to see above average temperatures for the next 3 months, according to the federal government’s Climate Prediction Center.
This map usually shows areas forecast to see above average temps, below average temps, and equal chances. The next 3 months, this map is showing nothing but above average temperatures for all 50 states.
These forecasts/outlooks from the Climate Prediction Center go back 21 years to 1995.

Dan Collins of the Climate Prediction Center credits unusually warm ocean temperatures for the above average temperature outlook for the USA. The warm ocean creates a warm atmosphere that translates to the higher temps.
Dan Collins also attributed a warming trend that is occurring in the USA. This decade has been warmer on average than any previous decade.
Human caused climate change is a culprit in all this warmth. Todd Crawford, chief meteorologist with the Weather Company, states that these blocking patterns have become more regular of late and may be caused by the dramatic decrease in Arctic sea ice due to climate change.
