Three new wildfires started in the past 24 hours, all in Eagle County, Colorado, very close to where the #GrizzlyCreekFire is still ravaging the Glenwood Canyon area. The Murphy fire is burning ten miles outside Edwards, CO, and started Wednesday evening but is not advancing. The Camp Hale fire started Thursday, but they were able to get it contained within the day. A third blaze started in this 24 hour period in the Wolcott, CO area named the Rube Creek fire. Crews continue to battle this fire with 0% containment. High wind and low moisture levels have led to extreme fire weather across many areas of Colorado.
Four large wildfires are burning in Colorado right now, all with very little containment.

The White River National Forest remains on a Stage 2 fire ban. Spot fires from the #GrizzlyCreekFire are possible in Eagle County. The #PineGulchFire is now the 2nd largest single fire in Colorado history and growing. “With all that in mind, the Forest Service is calling on visitors to the area to be extra careful when it comes to fire precautions”. Says Eagle-Holy Cross Deputy District Ranger Marcia Gilles. I am praying for rain and the safety of all our firefighters in this fast-paced fire season of 2020. Stay Safe Colorado.
