Falls Creek, Australia, has seen a whopping 90cm (35 inches) of snow fall in the last seven days.
After a slow start to the season, which saw Falls Creek unable to open for snowsports on Opening Weekend, the weather gods have made up for it, taking the average depth at the Victorian ski resort to 97cm (38 inches). The area saw a nice top up of 23 cm (9 inches) in the last 24 hours.
With school holidays under way in Victoria and New South Wales, last week’s white fluffy present could not have come at a better time.
Falls Creek is located about 220 miles from Melbourne and boasts 1,110 acres of skiable area. The resort is serviced by 16 ski lifts and also has an expansive network of cross country trails, half of which are currently groomed. The ski area is the home resort for many Australian Olympians, including snowboarder Scottie James and mogul skier Britt Cox.
