Earthquake Strikes South Korea Hours Before Mens Snowboarding Slopestyle Final

At around 5:00 am on Saturday morning, 5 hours before the men’s snowboarding slopestyle final was set to start, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, about 200 miles south of the 2018 Winter Olympics. The activity was felt in Phoenix Park, the location of the snowboard slope course and halfpipe reports Transworld.

Athletes and media on site woke up to an emergency text, but no structural damages or changes in the schedule have been reported.
