Starting in February 2025, Deer Valley Resort, Utah, will offer snowcat trips in the expanded terrain set to open in the 2025-26 season. Announced in a press release on the resort’s website on January 17, this offering allows guests to carve first tracks down the slopes nearly a year before it will open to the public. The full buyout package costs $20,000 for up to 12 guests, while a single seat costs $2,500.

The resort website explains the offering in more detail:

Step into a world of fresh corduroy, untouched snow, and exclusive adventure with Deer Valley’s new cat skiing operation. Set against the stunning backdrop of our Expanded Terrain, this is your chance to carve pristine slopes and escape with your friends and family in true alpine style. Guided by a dedicated Deer Valley Mountain Host and Ski Patrol, your group will ski off the backside of Bald Mountain into Park Peak Meadow, where a snowcat awaits to transport you to a haven of untouched terrain. With a second snowcat stationed at the bottom of each run, you’ll enjoy seamless transitions back to the summit for more exhilarating descents.

Those who embark on the journey will enjoy breakfast at Snow Park Lodge, a snowcat fully stocked with drink and snack coolers, dedicated ski patrol and mountain hosts, avalanche safety equipment, and a lift ticket to keep skiing after the tour. The full buyout package also includes lunch at Royal Street Café, as well as a special-edition commemorative gift.

The itinerary for the day starts at 8 a.m. with breakfast, then the warm-up run shortly after at 8:45 a.m. The real adventure begins at 9:45 and the tour concludes at 1:30 p.m.

“Deer Valley Cat Skiing will provide a sneak peek into Deer Valley’s next chapter, and we invite our loyal guests to witness it firsthand,” Deer Valley President & COO Todd Bennett said. “Our talented culinary teams, ski hosts, and guest services staff will be there at every turn, ensuring this unique snowcat skiing experience is seamless and unforgettable.”

When it opens next season, the expansion will more than double Deer Valley’s skiable footprint, adding 3,700 acres of ski-only terrain, 16 new lifts, and a new 10-passenger gondola, affirming the resort’s commitment to delivering exceptional guest services and a ski-only experience with limited daily skier counts. The diverse terrain will also be supported by a new cutting-edge snowmaking system and feature precise snow grooming that adheres to Deer Valley’s existing standards. When completed, Deer Valley will offer 5,726 acres of ski-only terrain spread across 10 mountains.

This year will be your only chance for exclusive access to this new terrain, so book this premium experience while you can.
