Utah winter has delivered this 2022-2023 ski season and has led to several resorts extending their ski seasons. On March 16th, Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, announced on Instagram that it will extend the season one more week until April 23rd, 2023. Only Bald Eagle and Bald Mountain lifts will remain spinning through that week.
Deer Valley received enough snow on March 15th to total 485 inches for the season, surpassing their previous snowfall record of 484” during the 2016-2017 season. This incredible amount of snowfall encouraged the decision to extend the skiing one more week.

This record-breaking, unforgettable winter for Utah has pushed Deer Valley to make some uncharacteristic changes. Not only has the resort extended the season later, but it also opened a week earlier, making this one of the longest seasons that Deer Valley has had. Leading the new COO, Todd Bennett commented, “I am grateful to our dedicated employees who have kept the mountain operating and guests smiling. They’ve maintained their unparalleled service and commitment to teamwork through the challenging weather conditions this year.”
As if another week of skiing was not enticing enough, Deer Valley is also offering lodging and lift ticket discounts up to 30% on its website. That’s a truly difficult deal to turn down for the spring skiing lovers out there.
