The deadly avalanche that occurred on Saturday has become national news.  It always saddens up to report on this type of news, but we’re confident that learning from these accidents is an important route to avoiding future tragedies.

 

COLORADO AVALANCHE DETAILS:

– 5 snowboarders were trapped and killed

– 1 snowboarder survived

– The avalanche is reported to have measured around 8 feet deep, 750 feet wide, and 1,100 feet long.

– Occurred at Loveland Pass (11,990 ft) in Colorado

– Deadliest avalanche in Colorado since 1962
