As Colorado’s winter season draws to a close, Copper Mountain has officially opened its Summer Hike Park, providing the state’s only on-snow terrain park experience through the summer months. The park, located in Center Village, welcomes skiers and snowboarders every Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with operations scheduled through September 7, weather permitting.

The Summer Hike Park offers a unique opportunity for athletes and enthusiasts to maintain their skills and enjoy real snow long after most resorts have shuttered for the season. For $25 per day or $199 for a season pass, guests can access a collection of rails, boxes, and other features, all constructed from snow repurposed from the winter’s accumulation and maintained to last throughout the summer. The park’s snowpack, built up over 30 feet high, supports roughly a dozen features, ensuring a variety of options for progression and fun.

Woodward Copper, the resort’s action-sports hub, complements the on-snow experience with its 19,400-square-foot indoor training facility, The Barn, which is also open for drop-in sessions Friday through Sunday. This summer, Woodward Copper is expanding its offerings with ten weeks of youth on-snow camps and, for the first time, two weeks of adult camps, providing expert coaching and access to both the hike park and The Barn.

The summer calendar heats up with the Woodward Summer Rail Jam Series, set for July 5 and September 5. These events invite skiers and riders aged 10 and up to compete and showcase their skills in a vibrant summer atmosphere. Whether participating or spectating, the rail jams offer a lively scene and the chance to keep the “snow stoke” alive well into September.

Copper Mountain’s commitment to snow preservation and innovative summer programming has cemented its reputation as a premier destination for year-round skiing and riding. As the only resort in Colorado offering an on-snow summer terrain park, Copper continues to attract athletes seeking to progress their skills and enjoy the mountain lifestyle, regardless of the season.
