Ten days after falling into the Rio Grande river in Colorado, authorities have recovered the body of 38-year old Roberta Sophia Rodriguez.
Roberta Sophia Rodriguez slipped on a rock and fell into the South Fork of the Rio Grande river near the town of Creede on June 15th. Her fiance tried desperately to save her but lost her in the rapids.
After 10 days of searching for her, the sheriff’s office announced yesterday that its search and rescue team had found her body around 10:45 am.
Rodriguez is the sixth person to die this month in Colorado’s river rapids. Following historic snowfall that continued well into spring, the snowpack is still significant, and the runoff into the Colorado rivers and waterways is expected to be deadly this summer. Admire it from afar…
