Cold Pacific Storm Inboud For California | 1-2 FEET of Snow Above 7,000ft Today – Early Friday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Great Tahoe Area in California. It is in effect from 4:00pm Today – 4:00am Friday Morning. Heavy snow and high winds are expected to impact the area. The heaviest snowfall is forecasted to fall between 5:00pm – 12:00am Tonight and 3:00pm – 10:00pm Thursday Night.

1-2 FEET of Snow Above 7,000ft Today – Early Friday.

On Wednesday, snow levels are forecasted to start out around 4,000-6,000ft and are expected to drop down to 2,000-3,000ft by the time Thursday rolls around.

AFTERNOON TO 4 AM PST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions,
 including commutes this evening through Thursday evening. Total
 snow accumulations through Thursday night...8 to 16 inches,
 with 1 to 2 feet above 7000 feet.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 4 PM Wednesday to 4 AM PST Friday. Heaviest snow
 between 5 pm and midnight this evening...and between 3 pm and
 10 pm Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
 times with gusty winds producing areas of blowing snow.
 Localized whiteout conditions possible over the Sierra passes.
