Caltrans Has Begun Clearing Snow From 9,624-Foot Sonora Pass, CA!

Caltrans District 10 crews began working on clearing snow for the 78th annual opening of Sonora Pass today near Strawberry on State Route 108. It’s been a sick winter, Sonora Pass is home to some of the best backcountry skiing in the United States.

This is just the beginning of the process, as crews will work eastward along SR-108/Sonora Pass to safely clear the road for motorists, whether they be local residents or explorers venturing into the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
