The average moderately active person takes around 7,500 steps/day. If you maintain that daily average and live until age 80, you’ll have walked about 216,262,500 steps in your lifetime.

Doing the math, the average person with an average stride who lives until age 80 will walk around 110,000 miles.

Which is the equivalent of walking about five times around the Earth, right on the equator.

So:

Q:  How far does the average human walk in a lifetime?

A:  About five times around the Earth on the equator.

Compared to the general population, athletes with a special interest in sports or professional athletes will walk much more than the average amount in their lifetime. For example, hikers and runners, runners who strive for Running Medals will have a much higher amount of walking due to long-term training, as well as people who keep hiking for a long time also have a very high amount of walking.
