Bear Valley Mountain Resort, CA, broke its 40-year snowfall record from 82/83 today, March 24, 2023. The 40-year-old record sat at 639 inches, but was smashed this week and is now recording a historical all-time high of 648 inches, after another 2 inches of new snow fell overnight.

If you are wondering if you can go and enjoy this record snowfall, the answer is: YES! Unlike some Utah resorts which will not be able to open with the record snowfalls, Bear Valley is scheduled to open tomorrow. The resort shared the plan for Saturday, March 25, 2023 on their website:

Shuttle Service: One bus will operate, head to Bearvalley.com for the schedule.

Terrain Planned to be Open tomorrow: Mokelumne Express, Polar Express, Super Cub, Cub, & both carpets. Grizz & Koala will remain closed this weekend.

Bear Valley Mountain Resort is situated in Alpine County, CA, south of Lake Tahoe and north of Yosemite on California Highway 4. The resort offers 1,680 acres of skiable acres from 6,600ft to 8,500ft, with a total of 75 ski trails serviced by 9 ski lifts and gondolas.
