Grand Canyon National Park rangers have identified the man seen hitting baseballs into the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on Sunday.
The man, who has not been publicly identified, has been contacted by park personnel.
Last week, Rangers shared a post on Facebook asking for the public’s help to identify the man.
Can you help U.S. Park Rangers of Grand Canyon National Park find this individual responsible for hitting baseballs into Grand Canyon?
On Sunday, October 17 at approximately 3:45 p.m. this individual was observed hitting a baseball with a baseball bat into Grand Canyon near the Yavapai Geology Museum on the South Rim.

It has not yet been revealed whether the man has been charged. However, the National Park Service prohibits visitors from throwing “anything” over the edge of the canyon’s rims — even rocks — as it could have disastrous effects for other guests or the canyon’s terrain.
“Objects tossed over the edge or dislodged by walking off trail can injure hikers and wildlife below, or start landslides.”

The Park Service has to enforce the law. I am not certain if hitting baseballs into the Grand Canyon is polluting the Canyon because honestly there isn’t a whole lot of plants or wildlife down there but there is junk leftover from the mining days. Should we fine ARCO and the other companies who ran the mines down there for littering? Come on. Time for Congress to relax environmental regulations.
