Aspen Snowmass, CO, Extends Operating Hours as Days Get Longer

An open season of stoke is coming to Aspen Snowmass.

Aspen Snowmass, CO, announced this week that select chairlifts at the ski area will have extended operating hours beginning February 18th.

The days getting longer means that at Snowmass, theย Elk Camp Gondola, and Big Burn chairlift will run until 4 pm, and the Village Express chairlift will run until 4 pm and just to the mid-station until 4:15 pm.

At Aspen Mountain, the Silver Queen Gondola will run until 4 pm, with the last ride down at 4:30 pm, as will the Ajax Express and F.I.S. chairlifts.

At Aspen Highlands, the Loge will open to 3:30 pm, the Exhibition chairlift will run until 4 pm, and the Summit Express will run until 4 pm at Buttermilk.

All other lifts will still close by 3:30 pm.

The new operating hours will run through the end of the season.

Daylight Savings Time begins March 12.

  • Americans are slow on the uptake. Iโ€™m in the alps which has shorter days this time of the year, and last lift is 4:45, so youโ€™ll see skiers coming down after 5pm. 3:30 is asinine.
