Thredbo is preparing to host its biggest-ever month of events in August with a non-stop calendar of action-packed skiing and snowboarding races, huge live music events, on-mountain après, dining experiences and a massive pride festival.

Get ready for a massive après party at Alpine Bar where a collective of DJs will be taking to the stage with a unique live electronic set.
August 10 – 12 | Rainbow Mountain
Celebrating diversity, inclusivity, visibility, community and love, Thredbo’s famous pride festival is making its return this winter and it’s set to be bigger than ever. This three day festival is packed with on-and-off snow events including an on-mountain cocktail party, non-stop après, a huge live concert, a champagne lunch and more. Plus, every Rainbow Mountain ticket purchased puts the attendee in the draw to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Aspen Snowmass including return Delta Airlines flights, accommodation at Limelight Hotel, lift passes and rentals.
August 12: Big Deck Energy presented by Canadian Club
Black Sallees has become the ultimate on-mountain après destination this winter thanks to our new Big Deck Energy DJ sessions presented by Canadian Club on select Saturday afternoons. Get warmed up for a fun night ahead with groovy tunes, cold beverages and a delicious new Japanese-inspired menu.
August 12: First Base ft. Poof Doof
Returning for another flamboyant First Base, the Poof Doof DJs are set to cap off a fabulous Rainbow Mountain weekend at Alpine Bar on August 12. The now-famous First Base presented by Canadian Club events are the jewel in the crown of Thredbo’s après calendar where guests can dance under the fireworks to some of Australia’s hottest music acts.
August 19: White Claw Weekend ft. Anna Lunoe
The girls are hitting the decks! White Claw is coming to town for a massive weekend of après, headlined by a huge party at Alpine Bar featuring female DJs Anna Lunoe and Michelle Owen.
On-Mountain Dining, DJs, Fireworks & More
In addition to the headline events, there is a non-stop line-up of entertainment, dining experiences and activations happening all month including a Merritts Beer Dinner presented by Pirate Life on August 4, Pirate Life DJ Deck Sessions every Friday and Saturday afternoon, the iconic Flare Run & Fireworks Spectacular Show every Saturday night, Keller Bar After Parties following every big après event plus live music at a stack of venues every night.

The competition really heats up in August with a huge calendar of action-packed skiing and snowboarding races and development programs.
August 11: Transfer Banked Slalom
The 9th Annual Transfer Banked Slalom is back for 2023! This race holds a special place in the hearts of snowboarders around the country. Rekindling competitive rivalries between friends and foe alike, this race brings out the need for speed with a side of fun. All snowboarders are encouraged to enter as the creative course caters to intermediate to advanced abilities ranging with a huge stack of prizes to be won.
August 14: Battle On The Bluff
Carve out unique lines and match them with style as you flow down Thredbo’s unmatched freeride terrain. Whether it’s sending big drops or slashing the wave and wind lips, this is the competition to strut your stuff! Set to become Australia’s Premier freeride competition, all Open Ski & Snowboard podiums will take home $1000 for 1st, $750 for 2nd and $500 for 3d place plus lots of prizes from Oakley, Burton and Rossignol on offer.
August 18 – 19: Women’s Backcountry Weekend presented by The North Face
Thredbo Backcountry Tours and The North Face are proud to present this new experience aimed at providing more women with the opportunity to gain and develop skills beyond the resort boundaries and connect with those already immersed in the big white wonder. Led by all-female guides, this exclusive women’s experience is split into two separate tours run on the same day. Choose between an Introduction to Backcountry tour and Beyond the Boundaries tour to upskill and boost confidence in exploring all the beauties of the backcountry. In between the adventures, there will be lots of time to get to know each other with social events on each evening.
August 25 & 28: Thredbo Triple Crown Slopestyle & Big Air
The all-new Thredbo Triple Crown is set to challenge skiers and snowboarders across three massive freestyle events with their own unique set up with Slopestyle on August 25 and Big Air on August 28. With a huge $60k cash and prize pool on offer. competitors will throw down for the panel of judges, showing off some of the best up and coming talent in the country.
Throughout August: Thredbo Village Race Series
Set to bring the local community together through fun and healthy competition, this is a great opportunity to develop your racing skills, meet new people and race your mates. Taking place on Wednesdays throughout August, challenge yourself across a variety of Thredbo’s iconic race courses with a variety of terrain to test competitors of all levels.
