
No stranger to receiving the most snow in North America, Alyeska Resort, Alaska, is at it again. A month after smashing through the 500″ mark, yesterday’s three inches of fresh snow have taken it past 600″. The resort has seen 601″ of fresh snow this season and has a 149″ base.
That’s an incredible total. Only four other resorts have even reached 500″.

Alyeska has exceeded 500″ seven times in the last few years. Last season, they reported 740″; in 2022-23 785″; in 2020-21 735″; in 2015-16 785″; in 2011-12 733″, and 2010-11 581″.
Alyeska averages 650″ of snowfall on the upper mountain and 512″ of snowfall at mid-mountain. The biggest year on record was 2012, with 978″ of snowfall.
The world record for a ski area is 1,140″ at Mt. Baker ski area, WA, in 1998-99.
