An 8-year-old girl was injured when she fell from the Big Blue chairlift at Squaw Valley ski resort, CA on Saturday at 3:30pm.

โ€œUpon arrival at the scene, patrollers administered emergency medical care to an 8-year-old female skier from Los Gatos, Calif., who was conscious.ย  The skier was wearing a helmet at the time of her injury; however, the restraint bar on the chair had not been used at any point during the lift ride.โ€ – Squaw Valley statement

The girl was transported via CareFlight to Renown Medical Center in Reno, NV.ย  The girl’s injuries are being reported to be non-life threatening.

It isn’t yet clear how the girl fell from the chairlift nor how high she fell from.

Big Blue Express is a detachable six-pack chairlift on Squaw Valley’s upper mountain that is rated for intermediate skiers and riders.

An 11-year-old boy fell 30-feet from a chairlift on Saturday in New Hampshire.

Lets all be very mindful of children when riding chairlifts this winter.ย  Bar down with kids on the chair, everytime.
