Lake Tahoe is having its best season since 2011. We just went through four brutal years of very low snowfall. This year is different…
This year, Tahoe snowfall is going strong with 7 ski resorts already breaking the 100″ snowfall mark as of yesterday.
Heavenly has gotten more snow already this year, 97″, than they ever got did all last season! KT-22 at Squaw is already open and Headwall should open this week. The Chutes opened at Mt. Rose today.
According to the NOAA graph below, in the Tahoe Basin, we’ve already surpassed the deepest snowpacks of last winter. Crazy, right?

Lets rejoice in our early season snowfall and keep our eyes on the horizon for more. According to climatologist, the current strong El Nino should be kicking even more snow Tahoe’s way beginning next month.
