A 6-year-old girl is being sued for $38,530 USD for causing a ski collision accident that seriously injured a woman in Austria. It’s being reported that injured woman can no longer ski due to this accident. The accident took place at the Hochhäderich ski resort near the border of Germany.
The 6-year-old girl was in a ski school group at the time of the accident. She allegedly made a sudden turn into the path of the woman. The case has been brought to court and will be heard by a judge who will decide if the little girl can be held legally accountable for her actions.
The injured woman initially attempted to sue the adult who was supervising the ski school the little girl was in but the Austrian courts threw the case out.
Austrian law states that children under the age of 14 cannot be held responsible for their actions in a civil court case, unless the child is capable of understanding the consequences of his/her actions.
Any damages that are awarded to the injured woman would be paid out by the child’s insurance.An initial hearing this week saw a court expert testify that both the adult woman and the little girl were both at fault in the collision accident. The court expert feels they were both equally responsible.

Does anyone know how this case ended? I googled and the only article I can find was in 2017 and the case was still under trial.

I think I just lost a few IQ points from reading this… what kind of person sues a child? If she’d been paying attention maybe she wouldn’t have ran into the poor kid and none of this would be an issue.
